A unique opportunity to stay in the Kilnman’s Cottage, part of a recently completed restoration project to Trenabie Mills, a group of listed Mill buildings, some of which date back to the 17th century. This traditional Orkney “but and ben”, has been modernised to a high standard yet retains the original character of its historic past. As the Kilnman’s Cottage, it would have housed the kiln man, near at hand, so it was possible for him to stoke the kiln and turn the oats and bere for drying.
